Yeah more work

Started working on the dinette today. I framed one outside the bus and then discovered when I took it onto the bus that I have to adjust one side to make room for the fuel inlet cover that is on the passenger side. Once I do that, then I can start working on the other.

I am trying to incorporate the same storage in the dinette as I had in the bench seat.
Here it is when I was fitting it on the bus to discover I'll have to adjust the one side so it will fit over the fuel filler cover plate. The other one will be harder to build as it will be built on top of the passenger side front wheel well.
I will not have much counter space. Its looking like on the passenger side I'll have a single sink and maybe two feet of counter right behind the dinette. On the driver side will be about three feet of counter between the bench seat and stove.

I plan on doing most my cooking outside the bus with dutch oven.

Seat Work

I had to work on DDH today because I'll be working on Tuesday and Wednesday. I was able to work on the bench seat. Here are some pics.
This is the back rest. I tried to look at everything I build and wanted to figure out how to use every available space for possible storage. Here is what I came up with.
More storage.
The area under the bench will be for my electrical box and other electrical stuff first then possible storage.
I am going to cover this particle board with oak plywood. I just wanted a little more strength in the front.

Don't know if I will be able to work on DDH until next Tuesday, so until then...

More work today.

Got to work on DDH today. I was able to put the bottom in the upper bunk as well as cut and fit the tops to the bunk storage which is also where the foam mattress will be. I also started working on the bench seat behind the drivers seat. This should hold my electrical too.

I will be covering the front with oak plywood. Each bunk storage is about a foot deep.
Bottom bunk is 32in wide by 74.5in. Top is 31in wide by 74.5in.

I love my Kreag Jig. Took some time but my base is nice and sturdy.

This is as far as I got in 12 hours. I don't like to wast space, so I've got to figure out how to use the area in the back of the seat for storage.

Till next time.
