Got to work on DDH today.

I worked on the bunk beds today so here are some pics of what I did today. I was not able to finish today.

The hardest part has to be cutting the plywood for the upper area of the wall.

More work done.

It doesn't seem like I will ever get done with this bus. I only get one day a week to work on it, and sometimes that gets messed up. I just hope that by the time I get done with it diesel won't cost too much for me even to drive it. I guess if it is I could just park it and live in it somewhere.

I'm going to post pics and give an explanation of each..

The above pic is the framing out of where the toilet is going to be. The five gallon bucket represents the location of the toilet that I have not gotten yet. And yes I actually sat on the bucket and went through the motions of (I won't say) lets just say I made sure I had the elbow room needed to complete the task the room was being made for.  Better safe than sorry later.

Here is the deal with the heater. A lot of guys take it out as well as all the hose, but because DDH is a pusher (motor in back) I need defrost and heat up front when driving. I might as well use the heater to heat the inside of the bus when driving and its cold.

I just went to the auto parts store and got one inch heater hose or radiator hose and extended the lines.

I know these are bad pics, but let me explain what they are about. The fans suck air through the radiator and pushed it to the floor ( as the heater was originally set up). I wanted the fans to push air through the radiator. A guy on a skoolie forum ordered new fans that had the blades turned the other way, I just grabbed mine and bent them so they would work the way I wanted. It worked great. If you look really close at the first pic you can see the blades on the two fans are bent in different directions.

In front of the restroom I am building my cabinet for my refrigerator.

 

This is how I framed in the heater. There will be a cabinet built over this that will have a sink for the restroom. The only thing I am trying to figure out is how to have enough area behind the heater, for the heater to pull air from.

Started on the bunks. Build both walls outside the bus and brought them in and set them up.

This is the stove I got today. I want to do most my cooking outside with cast iron, but I want something I could use on rainy cold days inside. Its used but not in bad shape. I got on line and got a owners manual for it, and the company (Brown) still makes parts for them. I think it was set up for natural gas, so I will have to change it to use propane.

I will more than likely paint it black to match the refrigerator.

I also got some 12v lights and other odds and ends.

Well that's it. still framing out stuff. My next task is to finish framing out the bunks, then I'll start on the kitchen area, booth, and bench seats.
