Past Due Update

Have been working on the bus a little. Here is two weeks ago.

First bed made. This one took the longest as I had to plan as I went.

A lot of the time was spent working on the far piece of plywood flooring. I had to cut access and storage doors that will match up with the framing.

This is today about a week after the above.

The second bed was easier to do. I just took measurements from the first, made all the cuts and put it together. I used screws and construction adhesive on the second one. Because I had to custom make the first one I will have to take it back apart and use adhesive.

I got a little excited and started building my first wall. it is currently held together by two screws and the base plate. Once I stepped back and looked at it, it dawned on me that I had not secured the front piece of plywood, nor had I hooked up the fresh water tank. So I will have to take the wall back down, only two screws, and hook up the fresh water tank, cut to access panels to the storage that will be between the storage closets, and secure the floor.

Building the walls was quite interesting. I could not use a level as the bus is not level. I tried to use measurements, but that did not work because the bus is not squire. The only way I could make sure the walls were straight was to use a carpenters squire, and measure each 2x4 off each other.

It was raining on and off today so I had to stop working. That was OK because I went and got my tint cut for my windows.

I measured the windows so that the tint is just short of the gaskets. After I apply it I will use a black magic marker or black silicone to cover the edges. The Idea of custom fitting each window to me is crazy. Thanks to Offroad Outlaws for cutting my tint.

That's all until next time.
